Kirk Humphreys is a TAP (gifted) mathematics teacher at Caruso Middle School in Deerfield, IL. He has been teaching for 14 years. As an educator, Kirk prides himself in being an innovator and is constantly reinventing his math classroom. His classroom is a “flipped classroom” and gives the control of his classroom to the students. Students take control of their education. In addition to being a dedicated teacher, Kirk has worked for the Illinois State Board of Education for the last 10 years in creating and reviewing questions written on the ISAT test. He currently serves on the Illinois State Assessment Review Committee. He was recently honored with the 10th district Exceptional Educator of the Year Award.
